Northern Light Inn is a family-owned and operated hotel established in 1983.
Geothermal Power Station
Iceland is known for its rugged landscape, volcanic activities and waterfalls. These nature resources are the reason Iceland is enjoying clean energy with its hydro- and geothermal power plants.
Geothermal power plants release the volcanic power by utilizing the steam in the ground to drive the turbines to create electricity. Not only are we blessed with clean energy but we get the famous Blue Lagoon and the Myvatn Nature Baths, as these natural wonders are byproducts from our Geothermal Power Plants.
HS Orka, the Geothermal Power Plant, next to Northern Light Inn is a unique facilitie as it is not only a power plant, but it also provides the whole Reykjanes Peninsula with cold water and hot water. HS Orka is the backbone in our community we call The Resource Park. The resource park that has been built up near HS Orka's geothermal power plant in Suðurnes is unique in the world, heralds a new era, new thinking and encourages even further development of increased and improved utilization of what comes from geothermal power plants. We are proud to be one of the companies that form the Resource Park along with the Blue Lagoon, ORF Genetic, Fish Farming and many more, see here.
